Tiny Rubilen Amit’s incredible victory in the first ever Women’s World 10-Ball Championship back in June surprised the pool world and put the friendly Filipina up there with the likes of Efren Reyes, Alex Pagulayan, and Ronnie Alcano. I covered the tournament for Billiards Digest magazine, the leading pool magazine in the US, and the feature story I wrote just came out in the August issue of the magazine. When I wrote this feature for Manila’s Businessworld newspaper back in 1995, Efren “Bata” Reyes was considered by many at the time to be the best pool player ever.
